Have you read about the bath salts epidemic? PBS did an excellent article on the use and effects of these designer drugs.
At first, I thought that possibly these bath salt drugs were allowing users to see the truth around us. According to the article people see "aliens and monsters." Perhaps the aliens have always been invisible among us, and snorting bath salts opens receptors in our brains that cancel out the cloaking mechanisms of the aliens?
My next thought was what if some country made a weaponized version of bath salts? We all talk about the Zombie Apocalypse. We read books like World War Z. We watch all the zombie movies. If someone sprayed a dose of bath salts over a major city we might have a massive zombie horde on our hands. People would be hallucinating like crazy and eating their neighbors would seem normal.
Bath salts attach to the brain and do not let go. The effects last for an extremely long time. We could be faced with zombie-induced insanity spreading across the country for months! It is a truly terrifying thought.
Watch out for the man made Zombie outbreak. It could happen.
