Do You Really Have to Pay Your Taxes?

Aaron Russo has been in entertainment circles since own a club in Chicago back in the 1960s where many of the great psychedelic bands (The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane) performed. Russo managed bands and eventually became a filmmaker. He was an avid political activist up until his death in 2007.

In 2006, Russo released America: Freedom to Fascism, a documentary film railing on the creation of the Federal Reserve and the Internal Revenue Service.

Russo explains: "I set out on a journey to make a film about whether or not there was a law requiring Americans to pay an income tax... or was the tax a fraud being perpetrated by the American government. This process of discovery brought something much more dangerous and frightening to my attention...now I will bring it to yours."

Many critics of the film point out that Russo's assertion that "there is no law requiring an income tax" is misleading.
